The WSK Final Cup, which has just finished in Lonato, confirmed the competitiveness of Parolin Motorsport and brought solid results despite much tougher competition than in Sarno the week before. In OK, the new generation is already well established with 3rd position for Anatoly Khavalkin and the top five of Maksim Orlov in the Championship. There was also a podium in OK-Junior for Zac Drummond, rising star of the category with Christian Costoya in 6th. Finally, William Calleja was able to finish in the top five of an extremely competitive Mini category.

With 55 Parolin Racing Kart chassis at the start of the WSK Final Cup in Lonato, the Bassano del Grappa-based brand confirms its leading position among the major manufacturers. Its dominant position in Mini, with 30% of the field and four chassis in the top 10 of the Final, is progressively extending to OK-Junior and even in OK. The weather was fine and dry throughout the competition.

“The performance of our drivers and our equipment was exciting this weekend in Lonato”, said Marco Parolin. “The competition proved to be very tough and results were difficult to achieve. Anatoly Khavalkin’s retirement in the OK Final was a blow, but he still reached the Championship podium. Maksim Orlov was up to the challenge during the whole meeting with a consistency that demands respect. The speed of Rene Lammers is undeniable, he set three very convincing fastest laps. We wish Enzo Deligny a bright future in single-seaters, as he has achieved exceptional results with us over the last two years. There is also good news in OK-Junior with the rise of Zac Drummond who should be among the protagonists in 2023 along with Christian Costoya who did not take long to learn the specificities of the category. Kirill Dzitiev is one of our assets in OK-Junior. In Mini, William Calleja made a great effort against 122 opponents, which is a record. Excellent in the heats, he experienced a more complicated Final, but managed to come in 9th to secure the top five in the Championship. Our other drivers also performed well. Manuel Miguez drove solid heats, Bruno Gyrc won the last heat, Bruno Blanco set the fastest lap in the race and the youngest, Alessandro Truchot, was the fastest twice. We are delighted and eager to start the next season with very interesting human and technical potential.”

21st in Qualifying, 15th after the heats (+6 pl) with two 2nd places and one retirement, 3rd in Prefinal (+5 pl), 4th in Final (+7 pl) and 3rd in the Championship.

Christian Costoya (ESP)
9th in Qualifying, 17th in the heats despite two top fives and one win, 9th in the Final (+3) and 6th in the Championship.

26th in Qualifying, 16th in the heats (+10 pl), 12th in the Final (+5 pl).

17th in Qualifying, 3rd in heats (+14 pl), 2nd in Prefinal, 6th in Final and 5th in the Championship (+16 pl).

Enzo Deligny (FRA)
16th in Qualifying, 22nd in the heats due to a retirement, 9th in the Prefinal, 13th in the Final (+6 pl).

Anatholy Khavalkin (RUS)
3rd in Qualifying, 4th in heats with one win, 2nd in Prefinal, retirement in the Final and 3rd in Championship.

René Lammers (NLD)
20th in Qualifying, 16th in the heats with two fastest laps in the race, 10th in the Prefinal with the fastest lap, retirement in the Final.

The WSK Final Cup, the last international championship of the season, got off to a turbulent start in Sarno on the first weekend of November. The rain, sometimes very heavy, considerably reduced the grip in the Qualifying Phases before the sun came out for the Final phases of the competition. In a tough situation, Parolin Motorsport took first class results by finishing in the top three of the provisional ranking of the OK, OK-Junior and Mini categories before the conclusion which will take place next weekend in Lonato.

“Very good results rewarded the solid performance of our team on the Circuito Internazionale Napoli”, explained Marco Parolin. “We were pleased to see confirmations and revelations in our squad as we prepare for next season. A 2nd place for Anatoly Khavalkin in OK and another 2nd place and the top of the ranking for Zack Drummond in OK-Junior brightened up the meeting while William Calleja took 3rd position in the Mini ranking despite a complicated Final. I would like to congratulate our drivers and the technical staff of Parolin Motorsport who are developing the equipment for a 2023 season that we will approach with strong attributes. Delayed by a retirement in the first heat, Anatoly Khavalkin has definitively taken his bearings in OK as shown by his 2nd place on the podium of the Final with the fastest lap and his 2nd place in the championship. Less consistent, Rene Lammers managed some nice moves while Maksim Orlov was in full recovery until his retirement at the beginning of the Final.

Zac Drummond was once more on the rise in OK-Junior after a remarkable run at the front, whatever the conditions. Winner of his Prefinal and second in the Final, he is in the lead in the points. Meanwhile, Christian Costoya climbed up to 6th place in his second WSK event in Junior while Kirill Dzitiev joined the top eight. After a difficult start, Jack Illife proved to be very competitive in the Prefinal.

Kosei Oguma and Tamas Gender did not manage to qualify for the Final despite Kosei’s superb 11-place gain in the Prefinal.

William Calleja had a good meeting in the top four in Mini. Winner of his Prefinal, he fought valiantly in the Final until a particularly lively last lap. 8th at the finish, he set the fastest lap in the race and took 3rd position in the ranking. Bruno Gyrc was also very competitive with a win and two top 3s in the heats before reaching another 3rd position in the Prefinal. Manuel Miguez drove some good heats and was the fastest in his Prefinal. Alessandro Truchot had some strong heats including a top five before losing ground in the Final stages. Bruno Blanco also scored a top five in a heat and qualified for the Final like all his team-mates.
